Nicoletta Vallorani

Nicoletta Vallorani was born in 1959 in Offida (Marche) and obtained her degree in foreign languages with a dissertation on contemporary American literature. She is Professor of Contemporary English Literature and Cultural Studies at the University of Milan. Vallorani also works as a translator (from English) and as a novelist: her first book was Il cuore finto di DR ('The Fake Heart of DR') was published in Milan by Mondadori in1993).

She has since published a number of novels, almost all of which are characterized by an original blend of science fiction and crime fiction, or, more correctly, cyberpunk fiction with specific noir elements mixed in. She has also written novels for children. Many of her books have been translated into French.
